Happy Fall

Happy Tuesday OCS Followers!
Fall themed cards are happening over on the High Hopes and One Crazy Stamper Blogs for August! I think this rubber stamp from High Hopes has to be one of my favourites! "Country Harvest" just about sums up Fall for me! Pumpkins, hay, picking apples (for pie?) all done in those gorgeous Fall colours! If you choose, you can even stamp something onto the little wooden sign!
I love the layered look of the cardstock that is cut with a Stitched Scallop die. The cardstock matches perfectly with the paper I used from the Doodle Bug "Happy Harvest" 6x6 collection. All the pumpkins have some glitter pen added to them. A simple designed card today finished off with some ribbon and a leaf gem sticker.

A rafter of turkeys!

Welcome to todays blog post!
I'm getting started on some Fall cards because I feel it sneaking up & it will be here before I'm ready for it.
I colored up both the Sm. Turkey P101 & the Lg. Turkey S211 from High Hopes.  I decided to color a few of each because I wanted some for my scrapbook pages as well as some Fall cards.  Then I got to thinking of the design for this card and I thought how about a small rafter of turkeys.  Originally I was going to use 5 but my card would have been huge so I paired that down to just 3.  I think it worked out quite well with just the 3.  I used the Happy Thanksgiving F203 sentiment, some ribbon & a few self adhesive enamel dots to finish it off.

Browns - E29, E27, E25, E23, E21, E31, E30
Red - R59, R29, R27
Grey - W6, W4, W2
Grey - W9, W7, W5, W3, W2, W1
Beige - E43, E42, E41
Red - R59, R29, R27
Cheeks - R01
I hope todays card inspires you to get crafty!
Have a wonderful day!!

Now that another month has started, which means that we are getting closer to the start of school and fall coming.  This month, both the OCS and HH divas will be bringing you inspiration for fall like cards.

When my children were younger, one of the best activities for fall was the carving of pumpkins.  How they loved making carving their own pumpkins and having an unique face.  So for today's card, I have used Pumpkin Patch and Pumpkins 10 cents both from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.  After stamping the image on XPress It Blending Cardstock, I coloured it with Copic Markers.

Nuts About You

We have a ton of squirrels that live in my neighbourhood. Each morning there are about 10 - 15 babies that I watch play in my neighbours back yard racing up and around the tree trunks.
Later in the day I see these babies and the adults busy collecting and packing their food for winter hibernation.
Little Nutty Buddy reminds me of these squirrels and I wanted to use him on a card that I can put in my stash for just the right moment when I would like to let someone know in a fun way how important they are to me.

I coloured up this cutie with alcohol markers, added some shading with Prisma pencils and cut him out using a circle die. The tip of his tail had to be cut a little to slide the die in under it to cut it the size I wanted it.
Next I grabbed some paper from Carta Bella and cut it to fit my design. All of the paper edges including the leaves have a touch of umber ink on them to make them pop a little.
Twine from my stash, skeleton leaves and enamel dots finish off my card.

Stamp:Little Nutty Buddy- High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Sentiment: Nuts About You - High Hopes Rubber Stamps

Birthday Bob

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Today I'm popping in to share a card I made for our friends 70th birthday this past weekend.  This handsome dude is Birthday Bob with the Caution sentiment from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.  Our friend thought this guy was pretty handsome too.

It's always a challenge to make a manly looking card, well it is for me lol.  I have a paper crimper from Marvy which was one of my very first tools purchases when I began scrapbooking.  It was such a good addition to my stash.  I'm not sure if they still make it.  If you don't have one take a look inside your cookie packages etc.  A lot of companies use crimped paper in their packaging & it's a great way to re-purpose things.  I added some burlap for a little extra texture & some self adhesive gumdrops for a pop of colour.

Hair - E37, E35, E34
Skin - E11, E00, E01, E000 & R20
Shirt - E87, E84, E81
Orange - YR07, YR04, YR02
Blue - B39, B37, B34, B32
Yellow - Y13, Y11

I hope you enjoyed today's post & thanks for stopping by....happy craftin'!
Hugs,

Warm Winter Wishes!

Hello OCS Fans!
It's the 2nd last day of the "Christmas in July" theme over on the High Hopes and One Crazy Stamper Blogs! Since Christmas is my favourite Holiday, it's been super fun making these cards when the temperatures are hot LOL. This is the rubber stamp "Buddy's Gift Block" from High Hopes
This is my 5th card in my "Christmas in July series" and keeping with my theme, I have once again used non traditional colours on my card. I coloured "Buddy" up to match the papers I am using from the Penny Black "Festive & Frosty" 6x6 collection. I always love to add lots of layers to my cards. This one is no different! Buddy is popped up with foam squares as is the ornament paper as well. Added dimension just makes your card pop I think. All the designer and cardstock papers are inked on the edges with Vintage photo Distress Ink. This I feel just adds another layer of dimension. A piece of ribbon, bow, tree gem and Stickles on Buddy's hat finish off my design today.
I am using the High Hopes sentiment called "Dot Warm Winter Wishes" on the decorated card inside.
Copics Used:
Buddy: C0, C1, C3, C4, C7, C9
Greens: BG11, BG32, BG34
Purples: V15, V19/ V04, V06, V09 (dots on present)
Bird: B91, B95, B97

Happy Stamping!
